Ear defendersIf your workplace is noisy, up to a level of 85 decibels, you can wear ear plugs.

As a rough rule if thumb, if your workplace is so noisy that you must shout to make yourself heard, then you must wear some form of ear protection. Up to 85 decibels, ear plugs will suffice. Over this level, you must wear ear defenders.

There is always a plentiful supply of fresh, clean, sterile ear plugs in the workshops. In addition, during induction, you will be issued with a pair of ear defenders.

If you are unsure about the level of noise where you are working, then it is best to wear ear defenders.

REMEMBER: NOISE INDUCED HEARING LOSS IS PERMANENT AND IRREVERSIBLE
